GWB Releases Grant Solicitation for Real Skills for Youth partnerships

The Governor’s Workforce Board has released a Grant Solicitation for Real Skills for Youth partnerships on January 24, 2018.

The purpose of this Grant Solicitation is for qualified organizations to form strategic partnerships to develop and implement high-quality paid work-based learning experiences and career readiness programming for youth in Summer 2018 and/or academic year 2018-19.  The Governor’s Workforce Board “Real Skills for Youth” program will build off the long-standing Summer Youth Employment program to enhance and scale work-based learning opportunities for youth, and more tightly connect work-based learning to year-round career readiness programming, by supporting partnerships among schools, youth-serving organizations, industry, and others.

The Real Skills for Youth Grant Solicitation deadline has been extended to Thursday, March 8th at 4:00pm, and a pre-proposal conference will be scheduled for Friday, February 2, 1:30-3:00pm at the Department of Labor and Training in Room 73-1.  Attendance is strongly recommended; please send no more than two representatives from your organization and RSVP to pauline.abetti@dlt.ri.gov.
