PrepareRI Destination 2030 Plan
PrepareRI is Rhode Island’s statewide initiative to help students explore careers, gain real-world experience, and graduate ready for college and the workforce. Through partnerships among schools, employers, and workforce organizations, PrepareRI connects students to opportunities that build skills, expand career awareness, and prepare them for future success.
PrepareRI supports programs such as career exploration, work-based learning opportunities, and the PrepareRI High School Internship Program, which provides Rhode Island students with paid internship experiences and valuable workplace skills.
These efforts are part of Rhode Island’s broader commitment to strengthening career-connected learning and ensuring that young people are prepared for the opportunities and demands of today’s workforce. The inter-agency task force leading Prepare RI consists of staff from the Department of Education, the Office of the Postsecondary Commissioner, Commerce, and the Governor's Workforce Board. Together, these agencies work together to ensure RI youth are prepared with the skills and tools to thrive in RI's economy.
