The federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) provides money to states to help residents access education, training, employment, and support services. The WIOA State Plan is developed every four (4) years, and modified every two (2) years after that, to help inform how those resources will be utilized within the state. Rhode Island is currently developing its 2026 Modification of the 2024-2028 WIOA State Plan.
