Governor's Workforce Board Announces 2022-2023 Real Skills for Youth Grant Solicitation

There has been an update to the Real Skills for Youth Solicitation budget and budget narrative templates. Due to this change, the GWB will be granting an extension for all questions to Friday, September 23, 2022.  Please use the new updated excel worksheet templates Appendix D for your application submission.

We will be allowing an extension for Application Submissions to Friday, September 30, 2022, by 4pm.  Each tab specifies the activity type and dates that correspond with each activity on both the budget narrative and budget template. Due to the shift in our funding model (fiscal year to calendar year), all budgets must be structured in this manner moving forward.

The Governor’s Workforce Board has released a Grant Solicitation for the Real Skills for Youth program on Tuesday, August 23, 2022. The purpose of this Grant Solicitation is for qualified organizations to form strategic partnerships to develop and implement high-quality paid work-based learning experiences and college and career readiness programming for youth in Summer 2023 and Academic year 2022-23. The goal of the Real Skills for Youth program is to prepare youth for success in college and career through meaningful career exposure and exploration of potential career paths and their on-ramps, skill-building with an emphasis on essential and professional skills, and supported work-based learning experiences that allow participants to apply learning in a real-world setting. The Real Skills for Youth program began in 2018 and builds off the long-standing Summer Youth Employment program to enhance and scale work-based learning opportunities for youth, and more tightly connect work-based learning to year-round work readiness programming, by supporting partnerships among schools, youth-serving organizations, industry, and others.

Applications are due on Friday, September 30, 2022, at 4:00pm EST

Awards to be announced in November 2022.
